Frozen Orange Creamsicle

Growing up in Newark, we had a Good Humor Truck that came around every night after dinner. As my friends and I darted to the truck, all I could think of was my orange creamsicle. Everyone thought I was crazy as they got their "shaggy dog" or "chocolate-covered cone". I went in the opposite direction with an old fashion cream creamsicle. Even as a young child I walked to the beat of my drum!

Something about that creamy vanilla ice cream with an orange twist, make it my favorite. I learned to love Kohrs orange-vanilla twist as my taste got more refined. Now, I find myself an adult, and somedays (we all know we have them- don't judge) need a little something boozy at the end of the day.

This cocktail is PERFECT for Fat Tuesday since it's an indulgence with the vanilla ice cream. This high-calorie delightful is not something I would drink every day but what the heck, it's Mardi Gras!

Everything is put in the blender and it does all the work. You'll need:

1 cup vanilla ice cream

1/4 cup fresh orange juice

2 tbsp orange marmalade for garnish

whipped cream

4 tbsp Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)

Grab a fancy glass and put a few strips of the orange marmalade down the side of the glass. Blend all ingredients in the blender except the whipped cream.

Grand Marnier is my favorite pairing with vanilla ice cream.

Carefully pour the delightful in the glass, making sure you don't disturb the marmalade. Swirl the whipped cream on the top (I use Reddi Whip) and finish with a dollop of marmalade.

The most difficult part of this drink is to limit yourself to one drink. This is a Good Humor Creamsicle with an adult twist!.

laisse le bon temps rouler!!
